Mick Rock Exibition

Over the remaining bleak weeks of 2010 and the New Year,
the Idea Generation Gallery are providing a welcome form of visual escapism,
paying homage to the man responsible for capturing some of the most iconic moments in modern pop history through his prolific career as the NME's rock n roll snapper.

Mick Rock exhibition
London was home to many music and art hipsters of the recent decades, and Mick Rock was there to capture it all on print and help make their faces as famous as their names. Having taken a photo of the young David Bowie in 1972, he then went on tour with him and the band, and started a career that would span four decades and more.

Famous faces
Included in the Mick Rock exhibition London show are wonderfully spontaneous images of Madonna, Lou Reed, Syd Barrett, Iggy Pop, Debbie Harry, Andy Warhol and many more.

Still going strong
But it's not all about the past - the Mick Rock exhibition at Idea Generation Gallery also included photos of some recent music stars with the likes of Lady Gaga, The Killers, Kate Moss and Snoop Doggy Dog all in the show too, proving he still recognises what it takes to be a 'real' celebrity these days.
The Mick Rock exhibiton London event, Rock: Music, takes place from 10am - 6pm Monday - Friday, 12pm - 5pm Saturday and Sunday, from Thursday 11th November 2010 - Sunday 16th January 2011 at Idea Generation Gallery. Entrance is free.
